Every month FamilyVenue will be evaluating websites of local family-friendly businesses and organizations and award them "The FamilyVenue Family-Friendly Site Award."

To submit a website for consideration, please contact us with the link to the site you would like to nominate and why they should win the award. The webmasters will be notified and will be allowed to sport the award if they so choose, linking back to this page or to their FamilyVenue listing.

 

The following are the set of guidelines in order to be awarded the family-friendly site designation:

 

• 1. Designed for the use of families
• 2. Absolutely no adult-themed or sexually explicit text, images, or photographs
• 3. No advertisement for alcohol, tobacco, gambling, or pornography
• 4. Does not promote hate, violence or discrimination in any way
• 5. Does not promote any illegal substances or activities
• 6. Posts and enforces rules in its chat rooms and forums to prohibit
  
  
  •    Sexually explicit language
  •    Profanity
  •    Remarks that disparage or ridicule other people
  
  
• 7. Links only to sites that share the intent of being family-friendly
• 8. Presents a professional and well designed appearance
• 9. Agrees to remove its family-friendly award, if the site itself or any of its links no longer meet these criteria

• 1. FamilyVenue family-friendly site awardee
• 2. Encourages families to come back over and over again
• 3. Promotes and encourages spending of quality family time
• 4. Encourages the importance of family and unity of family
